How to Put Your AI Art on a Real Skateboard Deck
To put AI artwork on a real skateboard deck, export the flat image — not a picture of a skateboard — as a PNG, JPG or WebP, then either upload it on our AI design page or let an assistant connected to our MCP server send it for you. Either way we fit it to the deck's real shape and show it to you assembled in 3D, with trucks and wheels, before you decide anything; from there you can turn it, edit it or order it. We print it on the bottom of a 7-ply maple deck for 89 €.

What the image needs before it goes on a deck
An AI image that looks great in the chat window can still disappoint on a full-size deck. Four things decide it, and all four are easier to fix before you upload than after.
- Flat artwork, not a mockup. Ask for the illustration itself. If the tool draws a skateboard with your design on it, you would be printing a deck on a deck, shadows and all.
- Tall. The printable surface is about 1 : 3.7 — the full-size canvas is 2643 × 9869 px. Unless you set the ratio, most generators give you something much squarer, so you either keep the whole image and fill the rest with a background colour, or fill the deck and lose the sides. How to prompt for a deck-shaped image covers both.
- Sharp enough. A deck is printed at its real size, so a small file shows its pixels. The result page warns you when the source is likely to look soft; the numbers are in what photo works on a deck.
- Room at the edges. The nose and tail curve up and the outline rounds off the corners, and eight truck holes go through the design. Faces, names and anything you'd hate to lose belong in the middle.
Three ways to get it onto the deck
They all end in the same place — a link to your deck — and none of them needs an account.
- Upload it yourself. Download the image from wherever you made it and drop it on the AI design page. Choose Keep the whole image or Fill the deck, and you see it on the deck a few seconds later. This works with any tool, because the only thing it needs is the file.
- From your AI chat, through MCP. If your assistant lets you connect MCP servers, add
https://skateboardpersonalizado.com/api/mcpand ask it for a deck. It sends the design, and the link comes back into the chat together with a picture of the deck assembled in 3D. In practice most chat apps send a composition of shapes and text this way rather than a generated picture, because handing an image file to a tool depends on the client; the full picture is in our MCP server guide. - From an agent that works with files. A coding agent or a script with access to the file can upload it directly to the same service. The command is in the technical guide.
After the link: check it, change it, order it
The link opens on the deck assembled with trucks and wheels. Rotate in 3D lets you turn it in your hands and Flat design shows the artwork laid out on the deck's outline. Read the notes beside the buttons: if the image was too small or the deck shape crops something, it says so there. The trucks and wheels are in the picture so you can see the finished skate; they're sold separately and arrive unassembled.
Customise this design opens it in the editor. The artwork arrives as one image layer: you can move it, scale it and add text, photos or shapes on top. If the assistant built it from shapes and text, those are part of the image now, so a typo is fixed by covering it or asking the assistant for a new version, not by editing the letters.
Ordering is the same as for any deck: you pick the width and any extras, enter your address and pay, on the website. Nobody orders on your behalf — not us, not the assistant. A deck is 89 €, shipping included in Spain, or from 15 € to 25 € more per order to the rest of the EU, depending on the country.
Who can see it, and whose image it is
The link is unlisted, not private. It isn't published in the gallery or indexed, but anyone you send it to can see the deck and open a copy in the editor. Treat it like a shared document link.
Being able to generate an image doesn't settle whether you can print it. Check the terms of the tool you used, and leave out what belongs to someone else: logos, cartoon characters, album covers, a real person's face without their say. A deck for your own wall is one question; a run you sell is another. The longer version is in where to get artwork for a deck.
Frequently asked questions
What do you do with my AI image?
We turn it into a real deck: we fit it to the deck's shape, show it to you assembled in 3D with trucks and wheels, warn you if it's too small to print sharply, and print it on 7-ply maple if you order it. The image itself you make with your own assistant or tool.
Can I put a ChatGPT or Midjourney image on a skateboard?
Yes, if it's flat artwork and you're allowed to print it. Download the original file, upload it on the AI design page and choose whether to keep the whole image or fill the deck. You see it on the deck's real outline and in 3D before deciding anything.
What size should an AI image be for a skateboard deck?
The full-size canvas is 2643 × 9869 px, about 1 : 3.7. Smaller files work, but the result page warns you when the image is likely to look soft once it's printed at the deck's real size.
Do I need an account to upload an AI design?
No. Uploading it, sending it from an assistant and viewing it in 3D need no account. You only go through the usual checkout if you decide to order the deck.
Is the design I upload public?
It's unlisted, not private. It doesn't appear in the gallery or in search engines, but anyone with the link can see it and open a copy in the editor.
Can my AI assistant order the deck for me?
No. Through our MCP server an assistant can only save a design and return a link. Choosing the width and the extras, entering the address and paying happen on the website, and you do them.
